Program Description:

Nursing Missions in Ecuador

June 8 - 16, 2018

Nursing Missions Abroad/Ecuador will provide an examination of missions nursing from a global perspective.  Students will have the opportunity to plan and participate in a short-term, international medical mission trip to Portoviejo, Ecuador.

The biblical basis of missions, the role of a nurse as a member of a medical mission team, and the healthcare needs of individuals on the mission field will be examined in the on-line component of the course.  Students will gain hands-on experience assessing the cultural, spiritual, nursing, and medical needs of diverse patients across the life-span in Ecuador.

**Important Note: Samford University subsidizes non-Daniel House study abroad programs with 70% of the tuition paid for the course. For this program, the subsidy of $1,569 is subtracted from the true program cost of $3,319. If a student withdraws from the course before departure or participates in the program without registering for the course, they will be responsible for the true program cost.
