Program Description:

The Land of Lakes and Volcanoes: Samford LAS in Nicaragua

June 5 - 19, 2017

Nicaragua is the land of lakes and volcanoes. Students will explore the scenic beauty that Nicaragua offers and connect with eco-tourism ventures and go hiking, volcano boarding, ziplining and snorkeling.

In this class, students will learn about its cultures, cuisine, and history as we visit museums, eat local delicacies, and study the long history of U.S. - Nicaragua relations. They will hear lectures at the American University in Managua from Nicaraguan specialists in history, economics, and politics and read texts that correspond to each leg of the journey. finally, the will document their experiences in travel journals.
