Program Description:
Experience first-hand the history and culture of this enchanting land of rugged mountains, charming villages, and stunning islands surrounded by wine-dark seas.  Walk the paths of Pericles, Socrates, and Paul, and explore the legendary geography of Odysseus as you visit the classical sites of mainland Greece and observe the striking remains of the civilization of Minoan Crete.  Our itinerary includes Athens, the island of Crete, the famous hanging monasteries of Meteora, Delphi, Olympia, Sparta, Mycenae, Nemea, Epidauros, Corinth, Marathon, Sounion, and the island of Aegina.

Courses: CLAS 200/303 - Examination of the history and culture of the Ancient Greeks through a firsthand look at the material remains, including monuments and artifacts from the Bronze Age, the Archaic and Classical periods, and the Hellenistic, Roman, and Christian eras. Cross-listed as HIST 331.

**Important Note: Samford University subsidies non-London study abroad programs with 70% of the tuition paid for the course. For this program, the amount of $2,775 is subtracted from the program cost of $3,925. If a student withdraws from the course before departure or participates in the program without registering for the course, they will be responsible for the full program cost.
