Program Description:

Barcelona and Catalonia: Riots - Rebellions - Revolution

*** This is a Spring 2018 on-campus course with a required travel component in May 2018 ***

This course traces Catalonia political and cultural development. It will focus on revolution and war: looking at
anarchism, revolution, the civil war and its artistic representation. It will include guided visits to some of the
revolutionary Art Nouveau buildings (including the Sagrada Familia) of Antoni Gaudi, Barcelona Football
Club, the Montserrat monastery, where Himmler searched for the Holy Grail, and the Costa Brava.

Cost of Trip (approximately $2,700) Includes:
  • Airfare (ATL-BCN-ATL)
  • Transportation (to and from the BCN airport)
  • Local transportation (20 rides bus and metro)
  • 3 days accommodation in hostel (4 beds in 1 room with private bathroom)
  • Hostel includes free Wi-Fi, as well as coffee and tea, served 24 hours a day
  • All amenities (i.e. sheets, towels, etc.) provided by hostel
