Program Description:

Travel Photography in Dublin:

Special Topics in Mass Media

June 5 - 14, 2018

Students will learn about unique media systems and challenges faced by media outlets across the globe, with a focus on political, economic, and cultural forces that shape media routines. Students will also research, and photographically document a publishable quality photojournalism project, in Ireland, with additional assignments in travel and feature photography.
Dublin, and Ireland, experience is approx. 9 days in length, to include, but not limited to: walking tours of Dublin, Book of Kells/Trinity College, cathedrals, a working sheep farm, two days in Northern Ireland & Belfast, back stage tour of Abbey Theater, see “Waiting for Godot” following tour;  outdoor food markets, Galway, Cliffs of Moher, and much more.

**Important Note: Samford University subsidizes non-Daniel House study abroad programs with 70% of the tuition paid for the course. For this program, the subsidy of $2,092 is subtracted from the true program cost of $4,590. If a student withdraws from the course before departure or participates in the program without registering for the course, they will be responsible for the true program cost.
